Macmillan Afternoon Tea and Pampering

16th October 2024

“Who would like to look good, feel good and do good at the same time?” asked the members of St. James’ church.

“We would!” came the resounding reply from a bunch of wonderful, generous people.

The result? A magnificent £370+ (and still rising) raised for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Outside, the weather could hardly have been worse. Relentless rain, stormy skies and a gloomy outlook provided a stark contrast to the sunny smiles, warm welcome and glorious fellowship taking place inside the church walls.

The meeting room, office and hallway were transformed into an ambient space with twinkling lights, glowing candles, fresh foliage and chairs bedecked with fluffy throws.

A beautiful afternoon tea, glasses of fizz and a range of pampering treatments were much enjoyed by all the guests. Ceri generously shared her expertise by offering mini facials using Tropic skincare and a team of volunteers gave manicures, hand and arm massages, foot massages and even reflexology. There was something for everyone.

Thank you to all – both guests and hosts – who donated their time, money and talents in support of this charity, which does so much to walk alongside people on a cancer journey.  If you would like to donate, it’s not too late!  Please see any of the church officials – thank you.
