Little Fishes

Why not come and try our “Little Fishes” ‘get together’? Under 5’s please join us this, and every Friday during term-time from 10.00 – 11.30 a.m. and play, while your Grown-Ups enjoy a brew and a chat.

Weds 9.30-11am @ St. John’s Church, Pilling.

Who could have foretold in July, that the Stay and Play Group, which was to be for 5 weeks, would still be running as we make our plans for Advent and Christmas.

It has been a great joy to welcome families on a Wednesday morning for an hour and a half of play, cuppas and cake! In all we have just over 20 families coming on a regular basis. The group gives support and fellowship for the adults as they mix amongst each other and gives a wonderful space for the little ones to enjoy the toys, stories, singing and dance games.  It is also a space for the babies to watch others, which is very important in their development.

Advent is to be a time of a preparing for Christmas.  With this in mind the Christmas story will be explored by the children and adults, leading to a special morning on the 22nd December, when it is hoped our regular little ones will bring their siblings along for the fun.

The group will close after the session on 22nd December and reopen on 5th January.

Fri 10-11.30 @ St James’ Church, Stalmine (Little Fishes)

Having run baby and adult sessions before lockdown we have been eager to get back to welcoming families and small people to our building! So, it has been a joy to start Little Fishes!  Over the last few months we have filled the hall with toys, opened the door to the secure play equipment outside and welcomed people in. There have been brews and biscuits, chats and chance to relax while the little ones are safe and entertained.

We have loved getting to know new people and welcoming back those we have known before and it is a delight to watch the children play and grow!

Advent will have a themed craft each week tailored to very young children and the term will finish on 17th December with a Christmas Party with soft play and festive food and crafts!

The group will re-open after Christmas on 7th January.

Families from all Over Wyre are welcome to both groups, everyone is welcome to join in!

If anyone would like to come and visit or help you will be very welcome. It may be to help make a cuppa or just sit with a brew and join in the conversations. Wednesday between 9.30am to 11.00am at St John’s Church, Pilling or a Friday 10-11.30am at St James’, Stalmine.

No charge is made for attending but donations have been received which we are really grateful for!

It is hoped that all our families have a wonderful Christmas

Families are very welcome in church.  However, if the little ones get really bored and would prefer to play, we have a special area near the front of church with toys and activities at the ready.  Parents, you are invited to sit in the pews close by, then your little ones can keep an eye on you.

Special services with puppets, songs and stories are arranged at regular intervals – see Events for when Messy Church will take place.

St. James’ enjoys close links with the local nursery.
