Abraham
The Raise and Praise group were looking at stars, thinking about stars and reading about stars!
The first challenge was to cut out a star, add your own name or a self-portrait in addition to highlighting a special gift you have that helps others know and follow Jesus.
The story of Abraham was shared. The narrative focused on Abraham’s calling, his faith and trust in God and how God promised that his family would one day number more than the stars above.
“Then He brought him outside and said, ‘Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.’
And He said to him, ‘So shall your descendants be.’ “
(Genesis 15:5)
A series of activities involving Playdoh mats, a Lego challenge, decorating star shaped biscuits, colouring, a quiz and a wordsearch also helped people of all ages to explore the main focus: God kept His promise to Abraham and God will keep His promise to each one of us.
It was another fun-filled morning, exploring faith in a different way.
