The Women at the Tomb

This term, Saturday Stay and Play services are focusing on ‘People who meet the risen Jesus’.

The first session was led by Gill, and in the words of Fr. Peter, it was a ‘fantastic morning’.  After enjoying a shared breakfast, toys for the little ones and games for the older ones, the group learned all about the women at the empty tomb of Jesus on the first Easter morning.

Through songs, poems and musical rhythm, the Easter story came alive.

There were plenty of hands-on activities too.  The youngsters were given the opportunity to experiment with making some perfumed anointing oil, some chocolate tombs and a living model Easter garden!

The atmosphere throughout the service was described as ‘joyful’.

As always, the Saturday Stay and Play service was a skillful blend of quiet, reflective time and engaging, sensory activities.

A message from Rev. Naomi: “We have enjoyed welcoming some primary aged children and are exploring how we can start including them and their families in our Saturday morning church!”

If you have any ideas or indeed any other feedback, please do get in touch with Naomi

PLEASE NOTE:

The next Stay and Play service will be Saturday 20th April.

We will continue looking at the people who met the risen Jesus and what it means for us to gather together on Saturday mornings.

ALL are welcome to bring little ones to this church service with a difference.  Breakfast, toys (for toddlers) and games (for older ones) at 9:30, ready for a 10:00 start.
