The Post Office re-opens on Mondays and Tuesdays from Monday 7th July!
It is with great sadness that we announce the retirement of Fr Peter as Parish Priest.
His retirement will take place in the middle of August.
Fr Peter writes:
Following a series of consultations with my doctor, and after talking to my spiritual director, and seeking guidance from our two boys and my sisters, I regretfully conclude that continuing my pastoral duties is not viable due to health reasons. Whilst my condition is not in any way immediately life threatening, I do need to make some significant lifestyle choices.
I am filled with gratitude and appreciation for the privilege of being a Priest for thirty-five years. I am particularly grateful to have been given the opportunity to serve this amazing community these past three years.
I feel frustrated and disappointed that many of the dreams and visions I had for this Parish have not been able to be fulfilled because of declining health. However, I have great faith in Rev Naomi’s amazing ministry and her ability to carry things forward as a new Incumbent is appointed.
I do have a sense of immeasurable joy in all that we have done together. It has been an immense privilege to serve as your Parish Priest, and I am humbled by your hard work and dedication. I am sure that much that we have achieved will be carried forward and I hold you all in my prayers.
God has amazing and exciting plans for this wonderful benefice. I am saddened only to have been able to play a small part in that great adventure of faith.
I ask you to hold Adele and me in your prayers at this significant moment of transition.
