Question: Who ate all the pies?

Answer: The lovely people from St. James’ church family!

The occasion? The ever-popular parish lunch get-together!

On a beautiful early spring day, over thirty members of St. James’ church brought the sunshine with them indoors, eagerly anticipating a delicious lunch and the chance to relax with friends.

The tables were set for a noon sit-down.  Gingham cloths, lush green foliage and twinkling fairy lights created a welcoming ambiance ahead of a tasty meal. The menu, lovingly created by local caterer Brenda Murphy – hotpot, cheese and onion pie, fruit pie and coffee Renoir – was a definite crowd-pleaser.

Animated chatter, the chink of glasses and clatter of cutlery, were all audible signs of a happy time being had by all.  However, the ultimate test of much-enjoyed food is of course clean plates…and there were over thirty of these!

Departing under blue skies and a radiant sun, was a group of friends who had shared a wonderful afternoon together.

Here’s to the next one…but before you go, here are some pie puns for you:

  • Life is what you bake it!
  • Don’t worry, be pie-happy.
  • Slice, slice baby!
  • Want some pie? Don’t mind if pie do!
  • Feeling pie-larious today.
  • In pie, we crust!
  • Didn’t we have a pie-ceful afternoon?

Looking forward to our next pie-venture together!
