Rev Mark Ireland, Archdeacon of Blackburn, has asked that the following two events be publicised.

Firstly, our opening Roots of Faith module for the Autumn starts on Wednesday 5th October and ends on Saturday 29th October with a day at Whalley Abbey including lunch.  Roots of Faith is a course in Christian discipleship consisting of six modules spread across the year.  Led by Revd Mike Print and Revd Jordan McDermott, this first module provides an opportunity for members of your congregations to explore church history.  The course can be booked online here Roots of Faith – Exploring – 5 Oct, 12 Oct, 19 Oct, 26 Oct, 29 Oct Tickets, Hoghton | Eventbrite and more information is available about Roots of Faith on our website here Roots of Faith programme | The Diocese of Blackburn (anglican.org)

Secondly, there is a Vine Community Quiet Day on Saturday 8th October at Blackburn Cathedral.  This is open to members of the Vine Community and anyone who is interested in finding out more about this new praying community.  It will start with Morning prayer at 9.00am and during the morning I will be speaking on “I am the True Vine” from John 15.  There is no charge for attendance.  The morning will finish at 1:00pm and it will then be possible to stay and have lunch, for which there will be a small charge.  To book your place, please email vinecommunity@blackburncathedral.co.uk and indicate whether or not you will be staying for lunch.  There is more information about the Vine Community on our website here The Vine Community – homepage | The Diocese of Blackburn (anglican.org).

There is no need to come through me to book on either of these events, just follow the instructions above.

Thanks

Fr Andy
