Michaela… I was very pleasantly surprised when singing at Alice Spencer’s and Harold Strachan’s wedding. What a lovely church to have a wedding in. It has a lovely spiritual and spacious feeling inside, and outside, the backdrop of the fells behind created a perfect setting for a wedding, Christening or any church occasion. Set slightly back from the main road, it’s easy to miss this hidden gem and I’m so pleased to have discovered it.
Joan…. As I walk into St James, a warm, calm feeling comes over me. There’s a closeness to God; peace, love and friendship.
Pam… St. James is a beautiful building where you can find a place to sit and be with God. But to me it’s much more. It is a wonderful, caring family who really offer love and support. And in the hectic stressful world we live, I for one couldn’t do without it.
Jane… I came – quite by chance – from further afield and found St. James’. I thank God for directing my footsteps to this pretty, peaceful, little country church – and for the happy friendships I have made therein. I love it!
