The PCC of St James’ resolved many years ago to donate at least 10% of all disposable income to charities, in line with the biblical principles of tithing, and secure in the knowledge that the Lord will provide.  See Luke 12: 22 – 34.  We believe that this extends to time and talents, as well as finance and worldly goods.  See Matthew 25: 31 – 46.  “I tell you the truth, whatever you did for the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”

And Luke 21: ‘As he looked up, Jesus saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. He also saw a poor widow putting in two very small copper coins. “I tell you the truth,” he said, “this poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.”

The recent events and collections raised:

Harvest Appeal: £172.

Macmillan Pamper Afternoon: £465.

All Souls collection: £170.70.

As a result, we have been able to donate £250 to Christians Against Poverty; £500 to Macmillan Cancer Care; and £200 to Trinity Hospice.

Thank you for your generosity.

Thank you for your donation

Thank you!

Thank you for your generous support of our DEC Middle East Humanitarian appeal.
Your gift of £250.00 on behalf of Stalmine St James will make a real difference.

As the situation in Gaza is ongoing, I thank you for all that you may have given, and continue to give, as the crisis deepens in Lebanon.

Your support helps our trusted partners to provide crucial resources to civilians affected by this humanitarian crisis. Together, we’re offering meals, shelter, sanitation, medical relief and psychological support to people facing a desperate situation. By working with the 14 other DEC member charities, we can expand the aid that our partners are offering, and meet the escalating needs of people who are fighting for survival.

In the last year, we’ve supported 800,000 people in Gaza. We wouldn’t have been able to do this without donations from supporters like you. And now as conflict intensifies across the Middle East, your donation will enable us to continue to support people living through the agony of war.

Your gift shows our neighbours in the Middle East that they’re not alone, and that we care deeply. Thank you.
